Newswise — DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- American Journal Experts (AJE) has been awarded a World Bank Group contract to perform editing services for the academic journals produced by the World Bank Group: World Bank Economic Review and World Bank Research Observer. AJE won the 12-month exclusive contract after an extensive vetting process that included a review of AJE's editing qualifications and an editing test.

"We have several talented economists in AJE's editing pool who were excited by the opportunity to create a new product specific to the World Bank's needs," said Dr. Deric Corlew, AJE's Vice President of Manuscript Services and project leader for the World Bank Group team. "The work we'll be doing goes beyond AJE's standard level of editing and really showcases our editors' versatility and experience."

Each paper submitted by the World Bank will be sent to a specialized team of editors who will fix any English-language errors and make sure the journals' style guidelines have been followed. As with all AJE submissions, the papers will be matched to editors who have worked in the author's field of study and understand the author's research. In addition to AJE's usual editing process, the World Bank Group team will also focus on each paper's structure and tone, and when necessary will suggest different ways of presenting data to more effectively communicate the author's research.

The World Bank Research Observer (WBRO) is a peer-reviewed journal published semi-annually, whose audience includes anyone interested in development economics research. The World Bank Economic Review (WBER) is intended for a more specialized audience of economists and other social scientists in government, business, international agencies, universities and research institutions. WBER is published three times a year.
